Building on the legacy…
Donate to MCF Housing for Seniors Capital Campaign for the Bow Valley Supportive Living Apartment
As an answer to the increasing numbers of seniors who need quality affordable housing, MCF Housing for Seniors has embarked on a $10 million capital fund raising campaign to build a 4 story, 150 suite supportive living apartment in Bridgeland.
For the first time in its 46 year history, MCF Housing for Seniors is asking the Calgary community to partner with the Foundation to build on the legacy begun in 1952 when six community minded men answered the need for quality affordable seniors housing and created the Bow Valley Foundation. In 1962 the Bow Valley Foundation turned its assets over to the newly formed Metropolitan Calgary Foundation. From those small beginnings, MCF now houses 1500 seniors in either a supportive living lodge or an independent unit and is the largest single provider of subsidized housing in Calgary. |
